This was a day of extremes. More excessively bad news on the college front, but I kept my spirits up by drooling over table saws at a couple hardware stores. After that I went for a bike ride out at Spring Lake for the first time since (according to my blog archive) November 27th. Yeah, I know how to live.. (que laughing here) I got some pretty clear elaboration going with part of my "epic" while I was on the bike ride, and I actually got a few paragraphs down when I got home... which I believe is a first.
Now, the power tools, the bike ride, and the writing were pretty cool, but they can't compare to a hot chick. Happy now Rach? You hereby officially exist... and then some. |

I'm pissed, my black wool cap that I got on sale for $6 at Fred Meyers in Oregon has gone missing. The last time I remember seeing it was when I tossed it onto the passenger seat of my truck a few nights ago when I went to this cruddy bar with my sister. I therefore summon the forces of the universe to help me get it back.
I've started my first new wood project... a new cutting board for my folks. When they moved into their new place I discovered the old cutting board was made of, get this... plywood. The vineer top is so thin that if you tried sanding it down you'd go right through it. The new one will be made of hard maple. I started listening to W. Bush's State of the Union Address last night. I felt so ill after the first 15 minutes that I had to turn it off. If Bush's master plan is to bring this country down painfully, he's doing a damn good job. Finally, to further stroke my own ego, I recently debuted a new personal quotes page. Tonight I also completed my latest masterpiece, Hair Fun. |

I've been pretty stressed lately... way too many bad things happening at once. Today, however, I broke the cycle (unintentional bad pun alert) by getting out and doing some bike riding. The water levels in the creeks are much higher than normal, so the rock flats where the two creeks meet were now acting as waterfalls. I hung out down there for a while this afternoon and just chilled out... it was very cool.
My old friend Amanda has started a blog/journal on her website... check it out. Oh yes, and I think if the entire world community wants you to knock it off Sharon, then it's probably something you should take seriously. Regardless of whatever happens in the world, it's all ok because I have my get out of jail free card. |

Richard Crenna died yesterday. That sucks, indeed.
News like this makes me feel sick to be an American. We're planning to invade and occupy his country because of the man himself, but to avoid war we'd be open to letting him go someplace else? I refuse to accept that I'm the only one that sees something horribly wrong with our government's priorities... Speaking of looming war, I attended the anti-war march and rally in Sanfran today. Here's some photos. And, to end on a positive note, monkey lander! |

I went bowling tonight with my sister, a co-worker of hers, and her co-worker's fianc. The fianc is a youth pastor, so he and I didn't have much to talk about. However, though he did come across less tactful than helpful, he gave me a few useful bowling tips that helped my game a little.. not that I care to any great degree, mind you.
Tomorrow morning I'm hopping on a bus (providing they have room) to participate in the massive anti-war march being held in San Francisco. I'm bringing my camera so be on the lookout for photos in the near future. Earth to Bush? Earth to Bush, indeed. |

Well the semester has started out pretty well, although my geography teacher's in-class behavior is so bizarre I almost feel sorry for the riley old codger at times.
Beefpile has a new BBS! We officially gave the old one the boot, as it was deemed on more than one occasion to be horrible to use. Check out our new one and do some posting! Open the champagne folks, because it's thermos time! Thermos! This is a pretty cool little site I found for Knigsberg/Kaliningrad resources. I saw this and just had to ask myself... is the news media really this idiotic or are we, as targets of the news media, really this sad as a population that we would actually give a rats ass? |

Zurck! Yes folks, I'm finally back from Oregon. This winter's trip was a good one, and if anything else it was quite eventful. Some of the highlights were:
New library and Broadway St. reopened Marmalade! "Mmmmember me?" Hangover cured by nap Fried rice dinner Hair cut Wet cabin hike Soul Apples The missing meat Cherz' car (the clutch and the parking lot wars) The great hair shave "03" carving and the frozen bike ride Dinner extravaganza with Michael Seeing friends and family Anyway, I'd like to thank Mike, Sandy, Eric, and Sam for letting me crash at their place for 2 weeks, and to Cherz for letting me crash at his place for new years. Coming home today had its own share of oddities. After an excellent breakfast with Mike and Sandy I hit the road several hours later than I'd hoped. Most of the drive was in drizzling rain and there was an abundance of drivers behaving badly. One guy in a sh*tty old van almost pulled a Duel on my ass after he tailgated me while I was passing some trucks. As soon as I was clear, he pulled right in front of me leaving about 5 feet of clearance and then started to slow down. I passed him and gave him the finger, at which point he furiously tried to match his speed with me. However, I sped off and eventually lost him. When I got back my folks got to see my new haircut, although their reactions were considerably more muted than I'd expected. Later tonight I discovered a tick on the dog and my father and I had a rather forgettable experience pulling the damn thing out. Anyway, I have about 100 pictures to sort through from the trip, so eventually I'll post some on here... be on the lookout. Cherz already has one, and so does Sweaty Butcher. |
