Saturday, 3-26-05. Partly cloudy and cool.
What is the life of an architecture student? Simply put, it can be defined as an experience where, over the course of each semester, the amount of time you have to spend on homework begins to increase to a point where it becomes impossible to socialize with anyone, or get a full night of sleep. Full nights of sleep are reserved for weekends only, and that's only if you haven't been assigned a major project, of which you usually have several going at once. Sound fun?

My first week in the new abode has gone so-so. I miss the privacy and relative quiet (minus the moron upstairs) of my old place, as well as the pleasure of using my own kitchen utensils and dishware. My sister and I have a lot to iron out, but my other two roommates, Dana and Adrian, have both been pretty easy-going thus far. My sister threw a massive dance party here last night, which left the house in shambles. I woke up to the mess a bit pissed off, but things were cleaned up eventually. Things actually look really nice now, but something tells me it won't last for more than a couple of days.

Monday, 3-21-05. Rainy.
The move actually went fairly well, though not without catching on a couple snags along the way. I was only able to procure one friend to help pack, and he had a cold. Another guy ducked out the morning of the move when his cell phone was stolen, but I did have more help UNpacking.

Things around the house are... filthy. You can feel the floor sticking to your shoes, and there are unidentifiable chunks of things everywhere... in cabinets, on the floor, you name it. I scrubbed the f*ck out of the bathroom and set up my stuff, but something tells me it will be an ongoing battle, since my sister doesn't clean anything... ever. In the frenzy of the move, I also managed to forget to pack my shaver.

Tonight, for the first time in 8 months, I bought ice cream and a frozen pizza that I know will not go soft or melt in a sh*tty freezer. In a moment of poetic humor, however, I became preoccupied with cleaning the shower and my cup of ice cream melted on my desk. The big stuff is all set up in my bedroom. The rest, I can venture to guess, will be slowly unpacked over the next few weeks.

Thursday, 3-17-05. Partly cloudy and cool.
I've been kept occupied lately by numerous insidious monoliths of time-swallowing activity. The most prominent of which, have been my latest rash of relentless projects and assignments that have been keeping my mind and body prisoner over the last few weeks. I have, however, recently found (for better or for worse) a much-needed source of tension-breaking entertainment in watching streaming cult tv shows through Winamp. Monty Python and Sifl and Olly have become favorites.

I'm apparently going to be moving this weekend, but I'm not quite sure how. I'm currently in the middle of a couple large projects and I've yet to find time to even begin to pack, but the whole episode is scheduled for this coming Sunday. I'll be giving up a lot, but I'll also be also gaining a lot... and saving valuable cash. I'm not quite sure how I'll react to living with people again, but I think I'll adapt pretty well with this crew.

Woo-hoo. New Here I Sit.

Sunday, 3-6-05. Sunny, then cloudy, windy, and cool
As usual, I've been kept far too busy to be making any sort of respectable, regular posts on here. Tonight, however, I have a few free minutes. As I'm slated to move out in a few weeks, and I've since made an agreement with my landlord for breaking my lease, I posted an ad yesterday for my unit. I've since been surprised, and am quite glad, as I've had 4 inquiries in the last 24 hours. I have to keep in mind, however, that one in five is serious, and one in five of those folks actually applies. With the new project in 22A going full-swing and all sorts of side-projects popping up in 24, the added burden of now having to persistently keep my place sparkling clean at all times, and the measures of constantly scheduling appointments for views, this is going to be a fun couple of weeks. I don't even want to think about the nightmare it's going to be when I have to pack up all my crap again. Did I mention I also need to find a job post haste? Any millionaires reading this that might be interested in donating a couple thousand to an excellent student's living expenses?

How exactly does one develop athlete's foot when they live alone, wear shoes constantly, and clean their shower with bleach once a month? I think the forces of the universe are trying to test me.
