Today marked the return of the "halitosis lady" at work. She sat in the same place, and behaved just as clueless and helpless in class as she did last week. Her near-toxic breath was definitely a bit more on the nostril-rattling side this time around as well. We're talking serious halitosis here folks. I almost gagged a few times I was typing some things in for her on her keyboard, but I was able to veil my convulsions into a heavy cough fairly well. My job gets more glamorously exciting by the minute, doesn't it? Or is it excitingly glamorous... it doesn't really matter, because next time I'm buying a gas mask... I want to have a sense of smell when I'm old. | ||

Well, sometime in the last 2 days the site counter hit the 8000 mark... thanks for visiting everybody, congrats to all. My furniture/cabinetry class met for the first time tonight. It's 4 hours straight, but later on it'll all just be shop time.. no more sitting on hard stools listening to the teacher lecture about router bits while asses go numb and backs start aching... but, of course, thatād never happen to me. I really like the teacher, a real down-to-earth older gentleman who's been teaching for quite some time. I haven't decided what my main project will be just yet, although I'm still leaning toward a new bookshelf... Cherz is coming next Monday so we can get ready for Burning Man... quite the trip. | ||

Be warned... I'm still debating the exact purpose of this blog. My original intent was to use it mainly as a vehicle for friends to catch up with my somewhat boring life and random thoughts. However, since I actually started writing in it, it appears to have turned more into a pseudo-diary, which is exactly what I originally promised myself I absolutely wouldn't do. I have also been continuously reminding myself that I shouldn't get into the habit of making entries every single day, another act which I have been exercising to a near-religious level of addiction. I plan content instead of quantity now, so don't be disappointed if I start writing less about how my day went than what odd things transpired... or for that matter, just going off on bizarre daydream-inspired tangents... which, of course, I'd never do... In a nutshell, I'm still getting used to this damned thing.

Class started today... The first two weren't too shabby, but we'll see how the last two pan out later this week. I made a few updates to the links page, otherwise today was mostly a day of psycholigical adjustment to being back in class full-time... not to mention being curious about the thick haze in the air from all the regional forest fires, both down in the bay and east in the Sierras. Today was a busy day... got a few larger tasks done around the house and made guacamole when my sister came to visit. I also managed to move the new site to my main URL and added a few things from the old site in the process. Fall semester starts tomorrow at the college and I have a busy schedule this time around. A strange thing occurred today... I'm now officially moved into the new place. How could this possibly happen, you ask? Well, this morning before I went to work I finally overcame my last "move in" hurdle, getting pictures and maps on my walls. Yeah yeah, keep the roaring applause down, will you? Oh yes, and (partially thanks to Luke asking) I am going to replace my old website with this one starting tomorrow. I hadn't done it yet mainly because I wanted a few blog entries in here and the links page done before I "went public." Now that I've met both those criteria, well it can only go downhill from here baby! | ||

Well folks, I finally got the links page organized. I decided on just making it one big list instead of making a submenu for individual pages. This way I'll actually be forced to look over the list once in a while and take off old links... otherwise, today was another fairly lazy day, spent mostly at the computer. I got my fall work schedule this morning, and I was able to sign up for the cabinetry/furniture construction class I wanted. However, my fall schedule was already fairly busy before I signed up for it, so we'll see what happens. Audey Murphy's autobiographical war classic, To Hell and Back (1955), has been in heavy rotation on AMC lately. I think I've inadvertently watched it at least 5 times in the last two days... | ||

Well, in the course of about 10 hours, I managed to not only set up my folks' entire tool pegboard, but I organized just about everything else strewn about in the garage. For some reason I kept thinking today was still Wednesday... perhaps the vibe was brought on by some subliminal remnant of a dream or something, or maybe the idea of actually having a few days off after this horrendously busy summer did something odd to my brain. Either way, it's Eric's birthday today... the big 2-1. I remember turning 21, it was the last birthday I looked forward to ;o) Luckily, I did all my drinkin' before I turned 21. Anyway, happy birthday man, and don't get too sloshed... not that you will, but one's liver and brain do come in handy. Have a good celebration.. cheers! | ||

Well folks, this is my first official entry. The new site layout is taking forever to finish, but everything's falling into place nicely. The menu is giving me a bit of trouble, otherwise things couldn't be more craptastic.
